Medics is honored and delighted to have participated in the 39th conference of the Federation of Islamic Medical Associations (FIMA) as a member of the federation’s General Assembly. Top medical professionals representing various Islamic medical associations around the world attended the event.
What is the Federation of Islamic Medical Associations (FIMA)?
FIMA is an alliance that brings together Islamic charitable medical institutions and seeks to coordinate and support their efforts. Established around forty years ago, the federation aims to enhance healthcare services, education, and the mobilization of professional and economic resources to implement medical and humanitarian relief efforts.
Background on Medics’ Collaboration with the Federation
Medics’ Meeting with FIMA in 2018: Medics held a meeting with the Federation of Islamic Medical Associations attended by Dr. Jamal Hassan, director of Medics, and Dr. Ahmed Fathi, Public Relations Director at Medics at the time, with Dr. Ihsan Karaman, president of the federation.
The meeting addressed ways to provide health assistance in affected areas with urgent needs. It highlighted the significant health challenges faced by Palestine, which have negatively impacted the general health sector. The attendees discussed the major threat to medical services and the lives of many children and patients, the severe shortage of medications and medical supplies, and the disruption of many medical devices and possible initiatives to address these issues.
Conclusion
Medics is pleased to participate in this annual event as a member of the General Assembly and reaffirms its ongoing support as a partner.
We are proud to have earned the honor of membership in the General Assembly in 2022. Through this membership, we are closer to complete all the medical initiatives we strive to achieve in cooperation with other associations and institutions.
